The University of Antique 〔Republic Act No. 9746〕 or UA, formerly known as Polytechnic State College of Antique,〔Philippine Batas Pambansa Blg. 281 Section 2〕 is a state university in the Philippines. It is mandated to provide higher technological, professional and vocational instruction and training in science, agricultural and industrial fields, as well as short-term technical or vocational courses. It is also mandated to promote research, advanced studies and progressive leadership in its areas of specialization.〔Philippine Batas Pambansa Blg. 281 Section 2〕 Its main campus is located in Sibalom, Antique. UA was originally the Antique School of Arts & Trades (ASAT)〔Republic Act No. 857〕 which was established by Fermin Taruc Sr for the Bureau of Vocational Education in 1954.
